A little More About Me

My husband and I

My husband and I

Hi!

My name is Grace Hart ( yes, like Gracie Hart from Miss Congeniality), as you may have read in my bio, I’m an artist, trying to make it my full time gig. At 32. Yikes.

Some days that seems really old, and some days that seems like a baby. I have always loved art and its all I’ve ever wanted to do, but I was told and believed a lot of the things that artists are told…”you’ll never make money that way”, “you need a real job”, “just keep it as a hobby”. So I tried the traditional jobs. Loved some and hated some but I keep coming back to wanting to work for myself.

I’m a southern girl.

The Appalachian Mountains of Tennessee are my home, but for the last 6 years my husband has been in the United States Air Force and I, of course, have been with him. We’ve been stationed in New Mexico and we now, finally, have new orders and they are for Japan! We are beyond excited and should arrive by the end of this year (2021).

Moving abroad will have its challenges,

But this has provided me the opportunity to quit my traditional job and give this thing a real go. Full time. I’m excited and ready. I’ve had an Etsy shop off and on, done some craft shows and all of that, but never as a full time deal. Since I have this chance, I really want to make it work. I’ve decided to take the social media plunge and do it the way you do it in 2021. It’s been a huge learning curve. It’s all new to me. Personal accounts are not business accounts and algorithms/SEO/hyperlinks it’s all another language when you’re not just having fun. But I want it.

So, here goes nothing…

I love to doodle and paint snails, bugs, landscapes, bones, mushrooms, frogs, moths and so much more. I enjoy hiking and thrift shops, oversized sweaters and chai tea lattes. Please check out my first blog for an explanation of goblincore and swampcore, the aesthetics that resonate with me and my art the most.

Don’t hesitate to reach out! I’d love more than anything to create a little community of like minded people. Stay tuned for projects, videos, photography and all the things. Get in on the ground floor and watch me fumble my way through this whole new world with me!

Thanks Y’all,

Grace
